I haven't removed the items and Hitman Pro has a default action of "ignore" for both itmes, and also the other user, niki mentioned in his/her post that deleting the two SidebarExecute items resulted in MalwareBytes Antimalware Premium having issues.
I read that someone else had these items show up in a scan, a user by the name of niki post #6293 in this thread. So the file as been on the system for a while and has only now just shown up in scans. They are not identified as threats but as "Traces: 2"
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\ Recently two new entrys appeared in my HitmanPro 3.7.9 Build 234 scan results. If so, is there any way to block automatic updates? I have been using version 2.0 for more than half a year now without any issues.Hi I hope this the correct place to query HitmanPro questions. I do hope that you will not be rolling out automatic updates to version 2.6 very soon, before this issue is solved. The only solution was to restore a system image containing HMPA 2.0.10. I have tried whether upgrading to the latest NIS version (v 21.something) solved anything, but no.
SERIAL HITMANPRO 3.7.9 BUILD 236 WINDOWS
I am using Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Norton Internet Security 2012 (v 19.9.1.14).
If I then choose to restart Windows Explorer, that does not happen either. After a while I get the message that Windows Explorer stopped working. Nothing happens and I cannot open or close any other program (I can still move my mouse though). The proper two windows are shown: the confirmation that the program has been removed and the text that I have to restart the computer. Uninstalling the latest HMPA version also does not work, whether via Windows or using Revo Uninstaller Pro. But no matter how long I wait: the screen stays black and I am not fully logged off. There still is some regular disk activity as I can tell from the activity lights. However, now log off stays stuck on the black screen and I never get the log on screen. In the normal log off procedure I get a log off screen, then the screen is black for a short while after which the log on screen is shown. However yesterday I discovered a serious issue, which took me quite some time to figure out.Īfter installing the latest HMPA version I cannot log off from Windows anymore (shutting down and restart both still work). That being said, I upgraded to HMPA 2.6.3.75 when it was officially released (after uninstalling version 2.0.10.45). And as I am running my business on only my laptop, as my desktop is broken, I also do not want to take any chances using a beta. I did not want to test the beta, because at this moment I do not have enough time. I have been following this thread for a while now, eagerly awaiting the new version with Cryptoguard.
